Bob White—Chairman of the Board, EW Healthcare Partners

Bob White is the Chairman of BioTissue’s Board of Directors. He brings nearly 30 years of experience leading early-stage companies and Fortune 500 business units within the medical technology sector.

Most recently, he served as President and CEO of Entellus Medical, Inc., which was acquired by Stryker in 2018. Previously, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of TYRX, Inc., which was acquired by Medtronic in 2014. Prior to joining TYRX, Mr. White held several leadership positions in commercial operations, business development, international sales and marketing, operations, and general management at Medtronic, Instromedix/LifeWatch, Eli Lilly, IVAC/Alaris Medical, and General Electric.

Mr. White joined EW Healthcare Partners in May 2019 as an Operating Partner. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of AtriCure.

Mr. White holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla and an MBA from Cornell University.

Scheffer C.G. Tseng, M.D., Ph.D.—Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer, BioTissue

Dr. Scheffer C. G. Tseng co-founded BioTissue and currently serves as its Chief Scientific Officer. Dr. Tseng is a world-renowned surgeon in ocular surface reconstruction and a widely published physician-scientist with more than 380 peer-reviewed clinical and scientific publications. He pioneered limbal stem cell transplantation and developed and commercialized the CRYOTEK process to preserve the natural therapeutic properties of amniotic membrane. For the past 40 years, his research has focused on identifying the biological components of human placental tissues, developing products that deliver their natural therapeutic properties, and expanding their clinical applications.

Dr. Tseng earned his medical degree from National Taiwan University and a doctorate in Experimental Pathology from the University of California. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University and a fellowship in cornea and external diseases at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Prior to co-founding BioTissue, Dr. Tseng served as Chair Professor at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami School of Medicine.

Amy Tseng— Co-Founder and Board Member, BioTissue

Amy Tseng is BioTissue’s former Chief Executive Officer and a member of the company’s Board of Directors. Amy co-founded BioTissue in 1997 with the vision of commercializing cryopreserved amniotic membrane as a platform technology for the treatment of ocular surface diseases.

From the company’s inception through her retirement in 2021, Amy presided over this mission, building BioTissue into the industry leader in this sector and guiding the company through impressive annual growth. Prior to co-founding BioTissue, Amy spent 10 years with two of the Big Five accounting firms, Ernst & Young and Price Waterhouse. She holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California.

Ted Davis — President and Chief Executive Officer, BioTissue

Matt Rice—Partner, Ballast Point Ventures

Matt Rice is a Partner at Ballast Point Ventures and a member of BioTissue’s Board of Directors. Matt joined Ballast Point Ventures in 2004 and returned in 2008 following business school. He currently leads the firm’s healthcare investing practice.

In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of BioTissue, Matt serves on the boards of Medsender, Careviso, PaceMate, Suncoast Skin Solutions, IRIS, Theragen, and YPrime. He is also a Board Observer at Carterra and serves on the St. Joseph’s Hospitals Board of Directors (BayCare Health System). Previously, Matt represented Ballast Point Ventures on the boards of UpLift, Innocutis, and MolecularMD.

Prior to joining Ballast Point Ventures in 2004, Matt began his career in the Healthcare Investment Banking Group at Raymond James Financial, where he focused primarily on the specialty pharmaceutical, drug distribution, and contract research organization sectors. He also worked in the Strategic Alliances Group at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research before returning to Ballast Point Ventures as a Vice President in 2008.

Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Evis Hursever, Ph.D. — Managing Director, EW Healthcare Partners

Evis Hursever joined EW in 2011, became Managing Director in 2019 and CEO in 2024.

Dr. Hursever led EW’s growth equity investments in Cognate Bioservices (acquired by Charles River Laboratories), Laboratoires Majorelle, Grundium, Germfree Laboratories, Boiron S.A., Ascend Advanced Therapies – ABL Inc., and has played a key role and served on the Board of Directors of EW growth equity portfolio companies EUSA Pharma II (acquired by Recordati) and Biotoscana (acquired by Knight Therapeutics).

Prior to joining EW, Dr. Hursever had over 10 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She was a senior manager in the European life sciences and healthcare team at LEK Consulting, a management consulting company. She was involved in several business transactions in the healthcare space, developed growth strategies for several pharmaceutical companies, and led numerous due diligence assignments for private equity firms in the healthcare industry. Prior to LEK Consulting, Dr. Hursever worked in the healthcare investment banking team at Merrill Lynch International providing M&A advisory services to a broad range of life sciences and healthcare companies.

Dr. Hursever received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Macalester College and her PhD degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

John Arnott — Independent Board Member

John Arnott was most recently Operating Partner and Executive Chairman of multiple portfolio companies for The Riverside Company, one of the largest and oldest global private equity firms. Mr. Arnott’s career in healthcare dates back four decades. He has an extensive background in corporate, private equity, international, regional, and country operating environments, including senior positions with Idex Corporation, Alpine Biomed, Sierra Scientific, and Abbott Laboratories.

John’s career launched in 1977 when he began work for the National Health Service in the United Kingdom, ultimately serving as Chief Medical Laboratory Scientific Officer for the Welsh National Blood Transfusion Service. From 1990 to 2003, he held several executive positions at Abbott Laboratories, including Vice President and Regional Director of European Operations and corporate Vice President of the Hospital Products Division. Before joining Riverside, he served as Chief Executive Officer & Chairman of Alpine Biomed, Executive Chairman of Sierra Scientific, and President of Idex Health & Science LLC.

Chris Calcaterra — Independent Board Member

Chris Calcaterra is a highly respected ophthalmic industry executive with decades of leadership experience spanning ophthalmology, medical technology, commercial strategy, physician engagement, market expansion, and corporate governance. He is best known for his tenure as Chief Operating Officer of Glaukos Corporation, where he played a key role in transforming the company from an emerging ophthalmic innovator into a publicly traded leader in eye care.

Throughout his career, Chris has been recognized for his ability to drive growth, advance innovation, and strengthen physician adoption of new technologies. As a member of BioTissue’s Board of Directors, he brings deep industry expertise and strategic insight to support the company’s continued focus on advancing ocular health and improving patient outcomes through regenerative medicine.
