TissueTech Partners with Donate Life America to Raise Public Awareness about the Importance of Tissue Donation
Leader in regenerative medicine joins forces with advocates to spread awareness on the role tissue donation can play in restoring quality of life and improved health
Miami, FL – April 19, 2021 – TissueTech, Inc., a pioneer in the clinical application of cryopreserved amniotic membrane and umbilical cord birth tissue allografts, announced today that it is partnering with Donate Life America (DLA) in efforts to increase tissue donor registration. Both TissueTech and DLA share a similar goal of supporting the nation’s donation and transplantation community and those who ultimately provide tissue to save and heal lives.
According to the American Association of Tissue Banks, approximately 2.5 million tissue transplants are performed annually. One tissue donor can help heal the lives of more than 75 people. In 2003, DLA established April as National Donate Life Month to encourage Americans to register as tissue, eye, and organ donors and honor those who have helped save lives through the gift of donation.
In honor of National Donate Life Month, TissueTech has kicked off its inaugural campaign reaching out to tissue recovery organizations and birth tissue groups to encourage tissue donor registration. TissueTech is accredited by the American Association of Tissue Banks for processing and distribution to ensure the highest standards in tissue banking leadership, education, service, research, and integrity in the practice of tissue procurement, processing, and distribution. TissueTech will further its commitment to the Association later this year with additional accreditation as a recovery organization.
“We are thrilled to partner with Donate Life America and honored to work with an organization that demonstrates such a strong commitment to driving awareness about the importance of tissue donor registration,” said TissueTech President and Chief Executive Officer Amy Tseng. “TissueTech is a long-standing advocate for human birth tissue donation. It is only natural that we collaborate with other tissue recovery champions to increase the number of people who register as donors.”
“Our work is made possible through partnerships like that with TissueTech. Our Donate Life Partners provide financial support as well as play a critical role in helping us extend the reach of the Donate Life message,” said DLA President and CEO David Fleming. “We applaud TissueTech’s commitment to promoting tissue donation and look forward to our work together.”
